Finally a new post

It has been way too long since I have blogged. Here is what has been going on:

We have been volunteering at Reins From Above www.reinsfromabove.org.
It is a therapeutic horse riding facility for special needs children and adults. It has been a lot of fun. I have been more working on crafty stuff lately and am having fun. I am working on the dedication signs for the flower garden and painting GIANT butterflies.

Ava will be 5 years old tomorrow. I cannot believe it. Dave gave her a present early. He got her a gift card to Build a Bear Workshop. She made a Hannah Montana bear and put a wedding dress on it with gold and silver sandals. It was funny. It sings happy birthday song when you press it's foot. We also went to the Candy Store and looked at stuff for Grandma for her birthday. She had a blast. As we were leaving she asked "When am I going to get my ears pierced." She has been bugging me about this for about a year now. I told her that we could go do it today. She was excited but as we got to the ear piercing place you could tell she was a little nervous. She picked out some pretty pink flowered earrings. I have been telling her that it will hurt and she says "it don't matter". The lady did one ear and you could tell it hurt Ava and that she was wanting to cry (NO telling what my facial expression). She started to say that she was did not want it to happen again when the lady did the other one. Ava was so brave. She did not cry. She looked like she wanted to cry. We "pulled over" by a store and I talked to her and she said "You didn't tell me that she was going to use a stapler". I felt terrible. I told her that we should go to the Disney store and she pepped right up and was fine for the rest of the day. She acts like nothing has happened so I guess she is OK.

Tomorrow we are having a birthday party at a gymnastics place. She is having cupcakes with princess rings on them.
